Mohammed Sinan Siyech

Bio

I’m a researcher, writer, and educator with a deep focus on political Islam, foreign policy, and counter terrorism across South Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Southeast Asia. My work also explores Chinese and Russian misinformation and how politics intersects with AI, social media, and global security.

With around 150 publications, I’ve contributed to leading think tanks, universities, and policy discussions worldwide. Beyond research, I enjoy teaching—whether it's mentoring students, training policymakers, or working with government agencies. I thrive on making sense of complex issues and connecting ideas across borders.

Senior Researcher, Equi, London (2024 – Present)

  • Lead and supervise a team of researchers, focusing on South Asian diasporas and British Muslims

  • Conduct interviews with political and NGO leaders, design polls, and analyze public opinion

  • Publish policy reports and op-eds, presenting research to UK policymakers and MPs​
     

Research Consultant, Institute for Security Dialogue, London (2023 – 2024)

  • Collaborated with global research teams on Chinese propaganda in India and Pakistan and Russian misinformation in the Middle East

  • Conducted multilingual research in Hindi, Urdu, and Arabic
